The Roots N Blues Festival is a three-day music festival that features over 30 different national and regional artists. The festival was sponsored by the University of Missouri Health Care and Veterans United Home Loans. In addition to providing free admission to all children ages 14 and under with an adult, the festival distributed community vouchers to 500 Columbia residents. They were redeemed by nearly 70% of the attendees.
The first day of the festival was highlighted by Jon Batiste and Tanya Tucker. Later on, Chaka Khan and the Old Crow Medicine Show took the stage. The Roots N Blues Festival also has a gospel show. The festival is family-friendly and offers dedicated golf carts for disabled fans. Altered Five has been around for twenty years, and they are known for their hard-hitting live shows. Their style of music draws inspiration from Albert King and Frank Gambale. They have been nominated for the 43rd Blues Music Award.
Eric Gales is a left-handed African-American guitarist. He has a unique blend of blues and rock. Previously, he recorded with Kenny Neal and Sugarey Rayford. He has released two albums on Mascot Label Group. Also, he has been awarded the Pinetop Perkins Best Piano Player Award.
Known for her strong and expressive voice, Veronica McLaughlin has a mesmerizing performance style. She has played thousands of shows all over the world. Having been a professional performer since she was 17, she is a very seasoned pro. Her concert is called Live for LIVE, and it showcases her band and musical talent.
Another artist performing is Sheryl Crow. Next year’s line-up has not been announced yet.
