State Farm presents the 2010 King of the Roots “Final Showdown” live at The Blue Note August 27th.
CONGRATULATIONS TO BJ ALLEN AND BLUE VOODOO FOR WINNING KING OF THE ROOTS!
The regional champions have been crowned, now the top bands from around the state compete for cash, prizes from New Belgium and Heil Sound and a spot on the main stage at the 4th Annual Boone County National Bank Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival.
Come out for the great music, a chance to win VIP whole hog passes to the 2010 Roots and Blues Festival and to find out who will wear the State Farm King of the Roots Crown.
The King of the Roots “Final Showdown” is an all ages event. Anyone under 21 years of age will be subject to a $2 minor surcharge. Cover is $5 and 100% of the proceeds will go to the winning band.
Thank you to all the artists who competed in the 2010 State Farm King of the Roots Competition. These artists represent the best roots and blues talent in the state, and we would be proud to have any of them wear the King of the Roots Crown.

Kyle Elliott and Voodoo Soul
Kyle Elliott and Voodoo Soul is a rockin' blues band with an explosive style. Live shows are full of high energy modern blues rock with catchy rhythms and a touch of soul. Driven by Kyle's monster guitar tones and soulful vocals, mixed with a hard driving funky rhythm section, this band yields an original southern blues/rock sound with a Kansas City flavor! Voodoo Soul features a fierce lineup with Ben Eisiminger on keyboards, Rob Bowen on Drums, and Greg Bush on Bass. This powerhouse band showcases a tasteful mix of original blues/rock with classic rock, rockabilly, funk and traditional blues rounding out the set. With influences ranging from blues & rock to jazz & funk to country & roots, this band is a melting pot of the legendary Kansas City music scene!

Crosstown Station was opened in 2007 by local musician Chip Mitchell. From day one Crosstown's motto has been, “About the Bands – For the Fans.” To achieve this mission Crosstown Station was built with the performer and the fan in mind. A stair-stepped seating arrangement, huge dance floor, and high-end sound and lighting system were brought in to enhance the fan experience. A huge stage, green room, and great sound and lighting technicians make the experience for the musician comfortable and professional so that we can draw in some of the best touring acts in the country. If you haven't been to Crosstown… you have see it to believe it. Come in and experience what has been called, “Kansas City's showcase music venue,” by Tim Finn of the KC Star and “One of the best stops on our (nationwide) tour,” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Jeremiah Johnson Band
The Jeremiah Johnson Band is a smoking blues guitar, blazing horn section, original blues band that has been exploding in St Louis area over the last year. Not only are the crowds and local bar owners taking notice but, the promoters in the St Louis have been opening their doors to this talented line up. The Jeremiah Johnson Band has been asked to open for Kenny Wayne Shepherd July 16th at the Celebrate St. Louis Concert Series, in front of the Arch. They will also be on the Main Stage at The Taste of St Louis October 1st, another large event located downtown St Louis. The Jeremiah Johnson Band are currently working on their new CD, they are expecting to have finished in September 2010. It will not only feature Jeremiah's seasoned guitar ability, excellent songwriting and powerful vocals, but two extremely talented horn players known locally as “The Sliders.”

B.B.'s Jazz, Blues and Soups is an award winning multi-level Restaurant/Jazz & Blues Nightclub presenting the best regional and national live music nightly within the intimate confines of a historic 1850's building. BB's offers a unique combination of St. Louis music history, culture, cuisine and live entertainment. The recent additions to the venue include a 2nd floor dining room with theater type seating overlooking the stage and a New Orleans balcony that provides a view of significant St. Louis landmarks.
BB's is conveniently located 1 block south of Busch stadium in downtown St. Louis. The full menu available until midnight and BB's has a 3 AM license.
88.1 KDHX is an independent, non-commercial, listener-supported radio station offering a full spectrum of music along with cultural and public affairs programming. KDHX is a 42,000 watt stereo station broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week, within an 80-mile radius of Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.
KDHX is licensed to the Double Helix Corporation, a non-profit organization which is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors elected by its contributors and volunteers. The Terry Quiett Band
Over the last three years the Terry Quiett Band has played over 300 shows across the heartland of the country. They've mesmerized audiences with their original, blues-soaked, groove-inducing, soul-filled sound from 6th Street in “the live music capital” Austin to Beale Street in “the birthplace of rock and blues” Memphis. They've paid their share of dues and tolls from the Rocky Mountains in Denver all the way to the blue grass of Kentucky, winning fans and growing their core grassroots audience with each performance. Terry Quiett Band has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Grammy Award winners and international guitar legends such as the Robert Cray, Doobie Brothers, Edgar Winter, Walter Trout, Robin Trower, Eric Sardinas, Albert Cummings, Bernard Allison, Kenny Wayne Shephard, Bugs Henderson, Tab Benoit, Gary Hoey ( Greg Allman, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Jonny Lang and Robert Randolph summer 2010) and many others.

Nathan P. Murphy's is known as the “Official Blues Club” of Springfield, Missouri. The club, owned by Dr. Bob Martin has been in Springfield for over twenty-five years hosting some of the big name players including Johnny Winters, Victor Wooten, Joe Bonamassa, and much more. Although the club's main focus is still on the blues, it also shares the stage with many local, regional, national acts of all genres, including rock 'n roll, heavy metal, and hip-hop.
