Last night’s Grammy Awards were packed with political statements and profound performances. This didn’t leave time much time for on-stage presentations of awards; in fact, there were only nine awards actually presented in front of the audience. Instead, most were given out at a pre-show ceremony, which means it was easy to miss a lot of the winners.
If you didn’t catch it, Roots N Blues alum Jason Isbell won two awards. The first was Best Americana Album for The Nashville Sound; the second was Best American Roots Song for “If We Were Vampires.” This was one of our favorite albums this year and was definitely played throughout the office a number of times. Congrats, Jason!
RNB alum Taj Mahal also took home an award for his album with Keb’ Mo’ titled TajMo. The duo won Best Contemporary Album.
