3 winter music festivals while you wait for RNB 2018

There’s only nine more months until the 2018 Roots N Blues Festival! But, if you don’t think you wait that long, we get it. Festivals aren’t just for late spring to early fall; there are festivals throughout the year that you might not even know exist. You may even need your passport for some.

1. Big Turn Music Fest

When: February 16th-17th

Where: Red Wing, Minnesota

How much: $40 for 2-day ticket

What: 18 venues. 100+ bands. Big Turn Music Festival is a “city wide event building community through music in downtown Red Wing.” They feature a ton of local and regional artists, and tickets are extremely reasonable. Parkas are highly suggested.

2. Sedona Winter Music Festival

When: January 9th-14th

Where: Sedona, Arizona

How much: $60 for general entrance but some free events offered.

What: This is not your average festival; you probably won’t wear artisan books and a maxi skirt. This festival focuses on chamber music and the performing arts. Some of the featured artists include clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein, cellist Nicholas Canellakis, violinist Arnaud Sussmann and pianist Adam Golka.

3. Noise Pop Festival

When: February 19th-25th

Where: San Francisco, California

How much: “Badges” for all access are $195, or you can buy tickets to individual shows.

What: Noise Pop is a music and arts festival that is in its 25th year. Over the course of a week+, features tens of concerts, a film series, art gallery shows & more.
