Southern Culture on the Skids

Formed in 1983 in Chapel Hill North Carolina, Southern Culture on the Skids is a hybrid of Americana, surf, R&B, rackabilly, and swamp pop. The band, whose members include percussionist Dave Hartman, bassist/singer/heartbreaker Mary Huff-Miller, and vocalist/guitarist Rick Miller, has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and numerous times on Late night with Conan O'Brien. The band describes their sound as “toe sucking geek rock – kinda weird, but it feels good when you're doing it.”
