Sol

Sol

Sol began his musical experiences gigging with blues luminaries such as Guitar Gabriel, Captain Luke, and Macavine Hayes. While earning a degree in the Recording Industry, Sol performed extensively throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi fronting his own blues and rock bands.

Sol then graduated to performing nationally and internationally with the true pioneers of the blues including Cool John Ferguson, Cootie Starks, Lee Gates, Beverly 'Guitar' Watkins, John Dee Holeman, and Jerry 'Boogie' McCain.

Sol has also contributed to many engineering and studio musician credits on the Music Maker label. He created a Music Maker release entitled Volume: Blue, mixing hiphop beats, electronic textures, and old school blues, that was compared to albums by the Dust Brothers, Beastie Boys, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and more. This album received interest overseas and lead Sol to perform this new blend of music live in Europe.

Sol's roots run deep into the blues but his unique versatility has allowed him to gig with Latin, African, reggae, gospel, jazz, funk, R&B, and folk performers. Sol also heads his own groups performing throughout the Mid-Atlantic region at premier festivals, venues, and private events.

Sol is proud to be a part of the Music Maker family. He has grown up deeply influenced by the Music Maker elders and continues to carry the blues torch to the next generation.
