Those of us who love the blues are a little different than the rest. It’s not something you can really describe to the uninitiated. It’s just something you feel in your gut, your feet and your fingers.

So we weren’t really all that surprised when Marilyn and Casey, two long-time roots n blues n bbq lovers came to us and said they wanted to be married at this years festival.

This couple had seen their share of the blues until they met one sunny day in June of 2008. 6/7/8 to be precise. A few months later they came to Columbia for their first festival and somewhere during the weekend as they were swaying to the blues, it happened.

Now we would like to believe that all that great food and music might have had a little something to do with it. Stranger things have happened. But they fell hard in love.

Now they are ready to make it official and want to be married on 9/10/11, smack dab in the middle of this year’s festival.

What could we do but clear some space on the stage for something as cool as that?

Turns out they not only fell in love with each other, they fell in love with the whole town. They even got their wedding rings right here at Buchroeders!

So Saturday night, September 10th, Casey and Marilyn will be married on the Flatbranch Stage and you are all invited.

Until then, we thought you might like to get to know them a little bit. You couldn’t meet a nicer, more fun couple.
