Aaron Harms has been writing songs since around 1994. Around 2004, he started a fictional band called The Late Night Benedictions. In July of 2011, that fiction became reality, as The Late Night Benedictions performed their first show at Columbia, Missouri’s Blue Note. In 2013, they released their first record, Work Out Your Own Salvation, on Home Tone Records. Currently, the band is on hiatus from performing while they finish their sophomore album. Aaron has since gathered a few local musicians, so far dubbed “These Handsome Strangers”, to support his solo performances in and around Columbia. He continues to hone in on the “Soultry & Western” sound that by turns includes the steel guitar and banjo of classic country as well as the horns and organ of sixties soul music.
